the center of the device, you'll find a trimpot. This trimpot is used to adjust the digital comparators. Turning this trimpot changes the point at which light is considered detected, or not detected on the digital outputs. Turning it left will make the device more sensitive (less IR light is needed to pull the digital outputs LOW). Turning it right will make the device less sensitive (more IR light is needed to pull the digital outputs HIGH).
